There are many nice tips and tricks related to Google Assistant that are very useful but go unnoticed by most users so far. Here are some of the best tips and tricks that you can now try with Google Assistant on your Pixel or Pixel XL or when Android 7.1 hits your Android phone like no other. 

If you are like us there is nothing more fun than testing the limits of your voice assistant with silly questions. We like to ask new and unusual questions to anger or embarrass our virtual assistants.    

Here are some things you can say and do to your assistant using only your voice. The Google Assistant can also help you control your Chromecast, Android TV, or smart home with your voice. With Google Assistant, you can also control smart home devices, Chromecast and even Android TV with your voice. The best Google Assistant commands not only help you make the most of the Google Home smart speakers, but also through the Google Assistant smartphone app, you can use the powerful functions of "Ok Google" anytime, anywhere.

Many of the tips below were written for a Pixel 5 phone running Android 11 - seemingly small features that can have a huge impact on the efficiency of your workday - although they will also work with the Google Assistant app for other Google Assistant-compatible phones, almost all Android phones and iOS devices.

The assistant will play music from a variety of sources - Google Play Music, Pandora, Deezer, Spotify and YouTube Music - but you can rest assured that it always picks the platform you like the most. Open Google Assistant settings> tap the Assistant tab under your name> scroll down to "Devices with an Assistant"> tap on your phone> scroll down to "Sign in with Voice Match" and turn it on or off.  

To turn the switch on, open Google Assistant Settings> click the Assistant tab under your name> scroll down to Assistant Devices> press on your phone> press on or off to Use screen context and turn it on or off. To turn it on, open the Google Home app, tap Assistant Settings> Assistant> Continuous Conversation then tap the switch to turn it on.

Your phone can now be locked on the other side of the room, and you can still use it by saying "Ok Google". Next time, just say the magic word (Ok Google or Ok Google) and your phone will be unlocked immediately. Next time you want to unlock your device, use the magic word (OK Google or Hey Google) and your phone will turn on immediately.

To set your phone to unlock with your voice, open the Settings apps and search for Smart Lock. From there, you'll find Google OK detection where you can activate trusted voice and allow the assistant to unlock your phone when he hears you ask for it. This will bring you to the main screen of the Assistant Settings where you can find and click the "Regularity" option independently if that doesn't work on your device.
